Colonoscopy reaches entire colon

I just had my 2nd colonoscopy. It's the Flexible Sigmoidoscopy that only goes as far as the sigmoid. The colonoscopy goes through the entire large intestine and even part way into the small intestine. I was awake for the last part of my colonoscopy and everything looked squeaky-clean in there. So, I too was wondering about the mucoid plaque or "sludge." Could it possibly come from the small intestine?
