OK, I've just read through all this twaddle and one thing strikes me - not many people here are circumsised. I am. I was circumsised at the age of eight, on medical grounds (I did not understand at the time, so this is irrelevant), and well remember the hospital visit, pre-op, waking up afterward and the fairly uncomfortable weeks afterward. My family are of a nursing bent, so I healed in an environment that understood what was happening. It all passed, I'm absolutely fine, no chafing etc - certainly no psychological probs. (As an aside to that, I seriously think that you Americans need to take more stuff 'on the chin' - just get over stuff and move on).
I'm obviously against circumsising for no need - why take risks when you don't have to? If you have to have it done though, its no big thing for crying out loud. Get a grip.
