What I think could help you is finding the source of the depression, or negative feelings against yourself. Whats wrong? What are you not getting. Do you feel alone, is there noone to confide in? Sometimes when there is love in your heart about yourself and happiness with yourself you wont feel the need to cut and harm yourself.
If you stopped and started again, then try to pinpoint what is troubling you. Find one friend, or better do you have a sister you can confide in- someone.
If you see you cannot get what you want at this time- clear your mind of it and set a goal. It could be any goal. Do something else with your time that sets you free. Hiking, biking, fishing- what I mean is get out to nature if you like that. You can't believe how refreshing this is. Getting up early taking a walk in the brisk morning when the sun rises. Go camping.
Write poetry. Take a friend out to lunch, or your family, your mom. These things might not sound good to you, so Im just throwing some ideas out, you can think of other things that you can clear your mind with- put in positive energy into your mind!
