Re: Lost Faith
Hi Mary-
I haven't really done this before- but I must offer my testimony. First and foremost-to really have a great understanding of God, you must accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior. I know you have probably heard that before, but this is a great opportunity for you to repent of your sins(all of them) and then ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit forever. By doing this, the world will be seen very differently! I am a born-again believer, struggling with worldly issues as well. Not as severe as yours, but pretty depressing issues. This is the first step- (it doesn't have to be said exactly, but pretty similar) "God... I know you are out there and I am asking for your help. I am a sinner, and I need forgiveness of my sins because I cannot carry this burden anymore. I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal savior who was crucified for my sins. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can grow strong in my faith and start to read Your Word. I need Jesus Christ, because without Him, I am a wicked sinner who does not deserve Your grace. Please help me with my struggles and burdens and release the evil tempter from my thoughts. I am asking You this with all of my heart and soul in Jesus Christ's name, Amen" Mary, I promise you, if you ask this of our Diving Being and ultimate creator of the Universe, he will open up a different door for you. This door allows so many blessings and peace in your open wounds, that you will wonder why you haven't done this before. When I did this, I just wanted to stand on top of the world and shout how thankful I was that God forgave my sins. This is the second step- surround yourself with the Body of Christ. Having Christian people in your life that you can talk to about problems and concerns will release so many of your doubts.
This is the third step- read God's Word. This is the only book of truth in existence, and by reading maybe a chapter a day, it will bring you very close to Him. REMEMBER: Do not give in to Satan- he wants you badly, don't give up hope. There are many bumps on the road to easy street. God is definitely throwing you a curve ball for a reason. Never distrust that it is not for your own good. God Bless and Happy Holidays!
