Re: Root Canal "Re-Fill"
Hi kandy,
Yes, there is something further to know about. Even if a tooth is extracted, the jaw bone can still harbor bacteria. I know this becuase I had some impacted, very painful migrain causing, wisdom teeth extracted by a regular dental surgent. After a few weeks they became infected and the doctor really wasn't able to do much for me. I also did the GFSE and rinsed my mouth out with Peroxle (good product, but be aware, it does contain alchol and blue coloring), it helped clear things up.
However, now I am going to a wonderful holistic dentist. After examining the x-rays, he told me that the cavitations from the wisdom teeth are harboring bacteria. I don't have any "signs" of problems, but as we know, that's probably only because I'm healthy right now and my body can handle it. I know if something ever happens that I can't figure out the cause of, the cavitations would be a good place to start curing the problem. The main bummer to all of this, is that my insurance paid a portion of the extraction (left me with a $700 bill) and they won't cover the cavitation clean up (about $800 per side). So I'm just kinda waiting around either for them to change their policies or until I really need it done.
So advice, I know you need some. I know it is extremely difficult to wait in a situation like this, but find yourself a very good holistic dentist. I have to travel 45 min for mine, and it is worth the trip EVERY time. They cleared up my husband's gum disease without medication, extraction, root canals, or anything. His teeth and gums are so healthy now, they look great:) And by the way, the normal dentistry told him he needed medication, extractions, root canals, and a ton of other things. We held out till I found someone.
Do a lot of calling to offices and a little more research on the internet to find out exactly what you need to look for. I looked for nearly 2 mos before finding mine, and I thank the Lord everytime I walk out of his office for waiting and being lead to this one. I searched for a dentist that doesn't use mercury, doesn't do root canals, knows how to clean cavitations, and will clean teeth with a hand-held instrument, and well, one that accepted my insurance (which can be the hard part). But even if insurance doesn't cover, you'll be better off waiting till you found the right person.
When I go to my dentist, I get my teeth cleaned with a pick and a scrapper with organic toothpaste. Takes a little more time, but it doesn't hurt the teeth the way the other proceeders do.
oh, another recommendation, this may actually save your teeth and gums, get some oreganol oil.
http://www.p-73.com It's a little expensive, but it is worth it!! Use a few drops (begin with 1-2) on your toothbrush --you can add on the top of your chemical free toothpaste ( I like Kiss My Face Aloe ) and work up to more if you like. YOu can even place a couple of drops under your tongue, hold for 30 seconds, and swallow with some water to help take care of infections anywhere in the body.
Hope this helps.
