Re: Avoided a root canal with direct pulp capping

I had a pulp cap 3 years ago and just this last weekend, the "pulp" flared up--pain and "loose feeling inside" the top right molar just behind the "eye" tooth. I had also felt pressure on my right eye and sinus problems. Have been taking Erythormycin for 3 days now and no analgesic--the Antibiotic has pretty much taken the acute pain away, althought, pressure on the gums just above this tooth yielded pain.

Any suggestions--do I try for another "pulp" cap or is root canal the only solution?

If this was just pulpitis and has not reached the nerve, is RC necessary yet? The pulp cap tooth had a composite filing/cap.

I have spent 2 days searching for holistic dentist who uses Endocal, but South Dakota has no such dentist--would have to travel 250 miles to Minneapolis for that.

Do I pull it--it seems a pretty solid tooth--just this pulpitis.
