Re: RB SOUL Thread

I miss the 90's rnb too. I remember when the lick actually polayed some good music and not just videos with morbidly obese rappers with scantily clad women who wouldnt ever dream of having sex with these blinged up whales if it wasnt for the bunce.

Anyway i got some real gems for ya
Try out Rahsaan Patterson, go for his latest album, After hours. if you love Maxwell youl love this. He's more upbeat than M,axwell but boy can he sing. In particular check out the track "so hot"

Others to try

Van Hunt- writes some songs for Rahsaan patterson. bit more rockier but damn funky. Check out the tracks "DUST" "down here in hell with you". Like a new age Prince.

Musiq Soulchild - Straight up soul star. For the best modern day soul slowy in recent times check out "Mary go round", or "Halfcrazy" for something a little more uptempo. His first two albums are wicked. He's also worked with Angie stone, The roots. and is from philly like Jill Scott.

Dave Hollister - was in the original Blackstreet line up. Check out the album "Chicago 85 the movie". He's also the cousin of k-ci and Jojo Hailey of Jodeci fame.

Nothing as chilled as BROWN Sugar here but it's ll good stuff.

You got any tips for me, i'm always looking for new stuff, as most of mine seems to be getting a bit retro now. Oh also Ian Martin "the way" is a wicked wicked album
