Don Rumsfeld is to blame for Aspartame!

I was just watching CNN today and they had a retrospective of Don Rumsfeld's life going on. (I couldn't turn away - kinda like watching an accident sort of thing). Anyway, imagine my surprise when the narrator blithely says that at one point in his career Rummie "was hired to be CEO of Searle Pharmaceuticals and during his tenure there he successfully sued the FDA in order to get the artificial sweetener "NutraSweet" approved"...!

I couldn't believe it. (as everyone knows, nutrasweet is aspartame)... We have Rumsfeld to thank for this plague as well! Yikes. It just seemed amazing to me - but then, I'm not a fan of his, as you can tell.
