Websites for heaters
In previous posts, people have said the Ceramix far infrared emitters are tough to find (maybe because the housings are not UL listed, and therefore not "code").
I THINK I've found the right place to buy these in Canada and the US, but dont have absolute confirmation that they're the right frequency.
In the US, the company is: POWER MODULES (610) 292-8900
In Canada: MORE HEAT (416) 675-7329
These guys are very knowlegeable and helpful for sauna applications. The sell emitters and housings, and recommend tow of their 750w/220v emitters ($32 each) installed in a two-heater reflector ($45 each). For a single person sauna, you'd probably need a total of five of these doubble heater units (two for the back wall, two for the wall facing you, one for under the bench at your calves), so that would be around $500 total for the hardware (minus the wiring supplies).
Does anyone have a better plan?
Also, the website that's easy to find with a google search of "far infrared heater" is linked below. They sell "Salamander" far infrared emitters, that are supposedly the same as the Ceramix brand, but I've heard that the frequency range they emit are not ideal for sauna applications. They have lots of other brands too. All very confusing...
Wish I could just buy a reasonably inexpensive sauna that I knew was the right design and configuration for maximum detoxing. Lapis says the best ones are from Soft Heat in Canada (web link below). They do seem to be the best, and Randy Gomm who sells them is very helpful, but even though they're not much more $ than the competition they're more than I can afford right now.
