Dentist wouldn't extract my tooth!!

I was told about a month ago by my dentist that I needed a root canal on one of my 3rd from back tooth. After doing much reading and researching I decided against having the RC.. so I made an appointment to have it extracted. To make a long story short, my dentist refused to do it saying it was still a "good" tooth and he recommends the Root Canal. He did give me a referral for an oral surgeon but I am confused as to what to do now. Any comments or help would be appreciated. Tweet
