Re: Annie. . .

Some people do very well on a raw foods diet or on a vegetarian diet and I think we sometimes have to experiment to see what makes us feel best. It helps to know your body type or blood type.

Back in the '80's I read a book on eating based on your *glandular* type, a couple years later I read about eating based on *blood* type and then I read about diets for different *body* types
based on Ayervedic(sp?) traditions (you can read about these and find out your type on the ASK Shelley forum in the FAQ's section). Anyway, they were all somewhat similar for my type, so I knew there was something to it (plus they described my body build and personality). And, I knew from experience that certain foods worked best for me.

I've experimented with different types of eating but come back to a low carb, no junk food, no Sugar diet that is focused on lots of vegetables (no potatoes), a medium amount of animal protein in the form of chicken, eggs, fish or lamb, 1 or 2 servings/day of live sprouted bread (like Ezekial), 1 serving of low Sugar fruit; and I eat healthy fats: flax oil, coconut oil, olive oil, borage and fish oils. I'm tall and slim (5'7" & 115lbs) and even tho' I eat about 5 Tbs of fat a day, I don't gain weight because I'm not eating candy, chips, pastries, or any junk food. I used to love desserts but I worked on weaning myself away from them; and over a period of years, I stopped having any desire for them. Oh, also, I shop at
Whole Foods and buy all organic foods as natural as possible.

Low carb diets are discussed in "The South Beach Diet" book, "The Zone Diet" book --maybe it's called "Enter the Zone" and Adkins books. I haven't read "South Beach.." but I heard a nutritionist saying (on tv) that because of advances in research, it was the best of the low carb diet plans.

My daughter does well on a vegetarian, no Sugar diet. My friend
cured herself of cancer through raw foods and colonics and looks
absolutely vibrant. She stays on that plan. My daughter and my friend are both different body types from me. So, the diet that
works best for each of us is different. Do you know your body type
and blood type? That could help you determine what will be a healthy Diet for you.

Annie
