Re: Anyone with PCOS, hypothyroidism?
Hi Suntangirl,
I'm new here, but I've read alot of posts. I too am hypo, I was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago. I'm almost 35, so we have that in common too. I experienced the same problems, before medication, as you are now while taking Levoxyl. If I remember right, Levoxyl is T-4? The reason I ask is, I did some reading before I went to the doctor, and I found information on a condition called Wilson Sydrome in which the body does not convert T-4 to T-3 properly, and when someone with this condition is given T-4, it only compounds the problems.
Now I am no doctor, I have no medical background, but it seems to me that if your medication is not making you feel better, maybe it's time to try something else?
My doc put me on T-3 when diagnosed. Within 1 year, my weight came under control (lost 30 lbs), and I no longer feel the least bit tired. Oh, and it also helped my asthma, I completely got off all meds for that. I'm on day 2 of the cleanse and I'm doing this to help other problems I have.
Best of luck to you, I wish you the best.
