Gallbladder removal

I had my gallbladder removed almost 7 days ago, and really didint expect the afterpain to be so intense. After years of suffering from gallbladder attacks i didnt think anything could be that bad, however i am suffering agonising attacks of shoulder blade pain and stiches in my sides whereby i cant catch a breath. I have two small children who i literally cant look after right now. How long does it take for the pain to subside?.

Sleeping at night is exteremely difficult as i wake with sharp intense pain in my left and right sides which migrates to my shoulders. A week on i thought i would have been a bit better. Can anyone relate to this, i would really appreciate any words of wisdom or support.
