Famous People without Gallbladders

I had my GB out 4 years ago during the Gore/Bush election. Guess you could say something about it turned my stomach. Anyway, since then I have been trying to gather as much information as I could about people who have had there GBs out. Turns out most of the information is about famous gallbladders. It's sort of interesting.

Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) had his gallbladder out in 1965 and died of heart failure in 1973 at the age of 65. Some stories are that he complained of having bad insomnia and nightmares in the late 60s (this is a symptom associated w/ liver congestion to many of us here). Although it could have been the Vietnam war too.

John Ashcroft had his celebrated Gallbladder removed last year also. The recent story in the news is that he is "exhausted." The connection w/ politics is interesing and curious.

James K. Polk (President) At age 16, Polk developed severe Gallstones which were removed without the benefit of modern technology, sterilization, or anesthesia. Remarkably, he survived the procedure, performed by celebrated Kentucky surgeon Dr. Ephraim McDowell. He lived to the age of 54.

Also there is the beautiful Australian born Princess of Denmark who had her gallbladder surgery in October this year, at the young age of 32. Check the website below.

Andy Warhol the (more than 15 minute) famous artist died at the age of 58 shortly after having gallbladder removal performed.

Jack Lemmon died of Gallbladder Cancer which is, of course, related to stones.

Caroll O'connor died in 2001 at the age of 76. Had his GB removed in 1994 and had a follow-up surgery to remove adhesions (scar tissue) around the area.

Larry Hagman had Gallstones too.

And the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, 79, was in the hospital after suffering a dizzy spell and doctors said he was suffering from cholecystitis, an inflammation of the gall bladder.

Well, there's more but I'll try to extend the list later.
