Thank you so much for all your information and the link, Karlin. The hawthornia is a special mixture (if I find the link, I'll post it) especially for hernias with hawthorn and a couple of other herbs. It's supposed to strengthen the organs, including intestines so that they don't pop out the hole in the inguinal ligament, but only for use in mild cases, which takes one or two bottles - tincture I think; I asked in my health food store, and they hadn't heard of it. My husband has a hernia, but I think he'll have to have another surgery (he had one on the other side). I've found a lot of interesting information on surgery alternatives on this forum - exercises, even zapping!
You think you have one? My husband just feels his intestines just bulging out - he has to push them back in, and he's wearing a bandage wrapped around it to hold it in. I've read that the open surgery works better than the laparoscopic, but takes longer to heal. Some doctors are recommending the lap. for repeat surgeries to avoid the scar tissue, though. Hope you're OK!
