I'm new to this forum

Hi my name's Liz. My doctor is sending me to have a scan at the hospital because my uterous is swollen and she thinks it might be fibroids. Can I put a question to everyone. Can a fibroid break off the side of the uterous and be discharged when I have a period? The reason I ask is that every month I discharge one 'clot' for want of another word and have terrible cramping pains until this clot comes away, usually on the second day of my period. It is always one clot a month and never any more and is made up of skin and stuff and not what I would think a clot would be. I've lost clots before, after I've had my babies and they were big burgandy coloured globules. But this isn't its rather strange really. Anyway could it be a fibroid? I would appreciate any replies. Thanks. Liz
