Fibroids No More!!

First, I must say that this testimony is long overdue! On Tuesday, March 2nd of this year, I was diagnosed with fibroids. When my doctor initially informed me of this, naturally I panicked - mainly because I wasn't familiar with the term. After talking with her and through extensive research on my part, I found that it was non-cancerous and that it could be removed through surgical procedures.

I'm 29 and for as long as I can remember my menstrual cycles have been heavy (lasting at least 2 weeks and going through at the least 5 pads a day - if I didn't change within the hour, I would have a mess on my hands - literally !!). It wasn't until the end of January that I noticed that there was definitely something wrong. My cycle lasted the entire month and there was this unbearable pressure on the left side of my abdomen. That's was the determining factor in going to the doctor (sadly, I hadn't been in the last 4 years).

After numerous tests, we set a surgery date for the end of March. It was found that I had a single fibroid the size of a grapefruit or softball. And there was concern on both our ends that my uterus would have to be removed along with the fibroid. At first, I didn't inform anyone of the upcoming surgery because I didn't want to be weighed down with worry and fear. But what I did do was stand on the Word of God! Everyday prior to the surgery I declared: "...no weapon formed against me will prosper..", "..by His stripes I am healed..", "..I am covered by the blood of the Lamb..", "..I am more than a conquerer through Jesus Christ.." and on and on.

I just continued to confess those words AND believe that I received my healing. I kept my mind focused on God and He kept me in His perfect peace. I'm telling you when the day of surgery came, there were those who had thought I had lost my mind! That's because I was laughing and talking as though it was just another day. - and by all means I wasn't in denial I just knew that the surgery would be successful, so why worry!

It is now August (approx 4 1/2 months since surgery) and I have noticed a dramatic improvement. My cycle lasts only 1 week and the flow is heavy only on the 2nd and 3rd day. My pad usage is now 2 to 3 a day. And my Acne breakouts are basically null - for a woman in her late 20s (again, I'm 29), that is extremely important!! My doctor removed the one huge fibroid and kept my ovaries and uterus intact! Praise God!!

Ladies in parting, I will say that this surgery is definitely a major decision. Do lots of research on this topic, but be sure that the source you choose is reliable (and not just someone's opinion) but that their findings are sound. And most importantly, pray about it and don't walk in fear over this.

Take care
