Not sure the debate forum is the best place for this--I don't see that there's any debate IN it. Seems to make good sense, and I think it's even been discussed before in the Ask Moreless forum, though perhaps not put so succinctly into one post.

I guess "debate" in this case implies healthy exchange, rather than excessive thinky-ness -if you can forgive the non-word- like getting stuck on defining the word "state", for example.
