Re: Anybody know how to make Almond milk?
so simple.
Soak almonds for several hours, and peel -for a very delicious mild and white milk.
Blend with water until liquefied. Try 1/2 cup dry almonds to 1 cup or more water.
Experience is the teacher, with regard to how YOU like it. Strain, sqeezing out all liquid. (I use silk. One good silk scarf lasts forever. Don't use unnatural materials.) Add a pinch of
Sea Salt . Maybe vanilla. Keeps for a few days, in the fridge. Best fresh that day.
Or, soak almonds, *don't peel*, blend, season, etc.
Always save the pulp. use it for bulk in nut burgers or--
Mixed with the pulp of sesame seed(that you made sesame milk out of, using the same simple method) you can make a nice cracker or flat bread.
One good one uses teff flour, a pinch of salt, a spoonful of blackstrap molasses
or so and the nut and seed pulp. Add a touch of good oil. Maybe coconut. Knead and shape to a dough. Let rest a while. Form into flat thin rounds, like cookies or oatcakes, and 'fry' in a dry cast iron pan at low heat, until hard-ish. These will stay pliable and chewy. This makes a really nice small round 'bread' that tastes nutty and warm, like a very good pumpernickle. Good with seed cheeses, pates,
tahini and molasses spread
etc.
Enjoy!
