When it comes to health and balance, there are far more connections than isolations. :)
Feet issues are not looked at with as much importance and urgency as they deserve. Feet carry us through life, our entire body depends on feet for balance and full range of movement. When the feet are injuired in any way, our entire body is injuired. The body adapts to feet problems like bunions by contracting connective tissues elsewhere. Over time, this will give you the old-folks bent shoulder quasimodo look. As the spine gets out of whack, so does the nerve impulses to our major organs and digestive system. Peristalsis is interfered with, etc etc etc.
Whether a bunion has a direct connection to the liver becaues the meridian for the liver is there, I'm not sure. If the soles of the feet had corresponding soreness at the liver spot, I'd certainly be suspicious of it! :)
