Men & Linoleic/Linolenic Acids

Good question!

It often seems weird for us to be quaffing oil when all we hear about are low-fat diets. Well, it rarely pays to listen to the diet fads!!! I can remember when people were eating nothing but papayas and garlic to lose weight and stave off heart disease. Boy did they smell! ;)

Men are especially prone to heart attacks and color blindness, they get them much more often than women, and one of the main causes is they need TWICE as much linoleic and linolenic acids than we women do. Flax seed, borage, evening primrose oil, lecithin, are all fantastic sources for these wonderful acids. Many men, after taking a 2 tablespoon dose of flax, can suddenly see colors much more clearly.

Raw oils do not contribute to arteriosclerosis. As long as we keep to raw oils, the oils do us tons and tons of good. It's when we deep-fry or mix dairy fats with flour and butter and Sugar or eat two animal proteins in the same meal that we get into trouble with fat.

Pitta people are especially vulnerable to cooked fats, which results in clogged lymphs for them and acne. So he might want to consider taking digestive enzymes with his oils just to be totally safe and sure. :)

Hope that helps! :)
