Sounds like you have an disinclination towards dentists. It also sounds like you have no idea how a business is run. Overheads can be very high and therefore it justify the cost they charged. Also, I like to draw your attention to the pricing protocol set out by the ADA. Its fix and within reasonable margin that dentists allowed to charge.
There are many many different types of denture teeth available from few cents to few dollars each , and that's why some dentures look very nice/natural, fits very well and comfortable as oppose to really awfull looking, illfitting etc.
