I'm in the market for a good electric toothbrush

Well it has come down to spending the money and getting what I really need. I have a hard time getting my teeth clean.....I can scrape off plaque with my fingernail after brushing. I am prone to recession and have worn away parts of my gums already. I bought a cheap $5 electric brush but it is just not doing what I need it to. So....I was wondering about the Sonicare toothbrush? Anyone use one or use something else they like? Someone posted something about a brush that made the plaque and tartar literally fall off their teeth.....was that the Sonicare? There are tons on Ebay....New of course! Thanks for the help.
