I think there is...
I've fooled around with all but heroin and Meth, Xtasy...haven't experiemented or used drugs for 12 years...so anything that was "designed" in the last decade I have no experience with...
I actually think there is a predispositon and it includes hormonal make up and also environment

Now here is the question:
When did the family tree begin the addictive turn?
If you are Irsih, as I am, alcohol would be my drug of choice-does that have anything to do with my genetics?
When along the family tree did one of my great great (?) grand parents become an alcoholic? Then how long did it take for the prevalence to code in the DNA? In one generation- ttwo generations...? The question fascinates me...
I am a child of the 60-70's-lived in So. Ca. and did my share of it all- but not alcohol- I was against alcohol (little did I understand that it was not the substance but the activity with the substance.)
Later, during the chardonnay phase, early 80's I realized the legal drugs were far more indicative ..than the street drugs of the 60's.
The Irish gene pool represented? Who knows- It just came to my attention in this form several years back.
