Well I got Amalgam replacement (2 huge ones), cavitation surgery and 8 fillings (my illness left me with so many cavities cos i was producing tons of acid.. YIKES!!) done all on one day!!! i was sedated for like 4-5 hours i think? i was INSTANTLY knocked unconscious so it was no problem!! if you are ONLY getting the cavitations done, then u wouldn't even need to be sedated. And of course they will numb you so you won't feel any pain!

after the cavitations surgery , you will feel the "string" with which they sew your gum. This dissolves by itself i was told, and it did. I had to go back for a check up because they had to file the fillings or something and realign my bite. it took a while for the inside of my mouth feel "normal" again cos it was banged about so much in one day, as you can imagine. but just for cavitation check up i don't think u need to go back necessarily, unless you want to, i guess.
