i got my wisdom teeth pulled out 17 years ago and one of them had grown into my sinus cavity........they had not realized this. so two days after the procedure, i'm gargling with salt water and low and behold the salt water started coming out of my nose on the side with the tooth grown into the sinus cavity. they just ended up putting me on anti-biotics and it cleared up. but i had trouble with my sinuses ever since, up until last summer when i had to get a tooth that was cracked completely in half extracted and it too had grown up into sinuses. i got an infection in it and had to take anti-biotics for that too but it made my sinus pain and pressure go away completely. i have been told and have also read that roots grown into sinuses is actually very common. what i'm not sure about is whether or not you really need to go to a specialist to have them removed. what would the specialist do that differs from what a regular dentist wouldn't do?? i would recommend doing more research online or try to find a site where you can actually email a dentist to get his/her opinion (like a second opinion). i did that one time a while back but it was so long ago, i can't remember what i asked him or what the site was. he was out of california and very thorough. good luck:)
