I think its the HYDROXYL free radical action!

When Vitamin C is put on the skin it causes one of the worst Free Radicals called an Hydroxyl. This is why Dr.Perricone tells people to use Fat soluble Vitamin C known as Ascorbyl Palmitate to stop this effect. This is why some people get inflammed skin from using Vitamin C.

I personally feel this may be te true killer of the skin cancer rather than the Vitamin C itself. Its kinder like Ozone how to acts as a free radical oxidising the pathogens and blood. So if this Hydroxyl scavenges at the cancerous site it could do the same im presuming!
