Re: prevention ?

No wearing a condom does not stop the spread of herpes. Herpes is spread from skin to skin contact from an infected persons sores to the uninfected person. A person can become infected on the "lower parts" the mouth, eyes, and fingers. Herpes can be spead at ANYTIME from an infected person, this is done with viral shedding that has no symptoms usually, the virus is just passed, so the only real way to be 100% sure you won't be infected is to not have contact with people. Also, it can be transmitted from kissing. A majority of the population is infected with type 1, which is the form of "cold sores" on the mouth, which is oral herpes. Herpes on the mouth or anywhere else are the same. Type 1 or type 2, they are cold sores and are very contagious. Communication is the best key! :)
