BHT: closest to a cure
Yes, I have had a great deal of success with BHT. As of today, my breakouts have virtually come to a halt (and mine were chronic).
BHT is fat soluable. I began several months ago taking 250 mg. capsules with "high fat" meals. After about 2/3 weeks, the "blister" like breakouts I used to get went away. I began to get very small "pimple" like breakouts on my upper torso instead (when I'd eat trigger foods).
BHT takes about a day or so to dissolve in oil. Although I took the capsules (sometimes one 250 mg. with each meal if I thought I was eating "triggers") I always wondered if they were really disolving.
About two to three weeks ago, I tried dissolving some in vitamin E to use topically. That seemed to work well on any of the "pimples". I'd dab some oil on it them follow it up by touching the spot with powdered BHT. As I was running out of vitamin E, I went to purchase more but, as it turned out, I ended up getting wheat germ oil instead (30-35% vitamin E). This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. While it didn't work as well topically (because its yellow color puts a light stain on clothes) I makes an excellent base to dissolve the BHT in. I measured one tablespoon to 250 mg of BHT (did 10 tablespoons) and left it overnight. By the second day, it was all dissolved. I took one tablespoon in the morning with breakfast. Today I took one with breakfast and one with dinner. This seems to work really well. I know it is fully dissolved and I have been very clear so far. Small red spots that I had have begun to disappear.
It might take awhile until I am totally free of breakouts but at least I feel normal, again - and it is GREAT! :)
If I can help you with info. on what I've tried (or anyone else who might like to try BHT) please feel free to email me.
