Re: getting ready to get the mercury fillings removed/need more info!!

Diamondcrown is  a popular choice because it doesn't contain Bis Phenol A dimetacrylate ( BPA-DMA ) (BPA).  And, it doesn't contain residual metals that many composite resins contain: http://www.biodent.be/compotox.html.  Gold is good, as long as it is a good quality gold (high nobel is best);  But, gold and porcelain are considered permanent restorations and are best used for teeth that already have a significant amount of tooth structure missing (i.e., a plus sign looking filling).  If you want to go for the permanent restoration in a small filling, that is up to you, but they will need to cut away some tooth structure, as metal does not like to stick to teeth, whereas, composite does stick very well.

Companies that make dental products do not fully disclose ingredients because they want to protect their patents.  I do have the MSDS on diamondlite and if anyone wants it, they can email me.  Diamond says their process eliminates residual metals in their fillings (which most other white fillings contain).  They call it a PEX-based system, which is a cross-linked polyethylene.

Diamondcrown used for filling material is the most compatible on the market, but for those still wanting a compatibility test, or for those needing work other than fillings and want to know if they test safe for other products, you can get a biocompatibility test.  (I recommend this only to people who say they are allergic to everything, but it is up to the patient).   Testing info is on my website (scroll down a ways):
