The essential oil Ravensara will kill cold sores so I would think it would kill this type as well. You need a wholesome source of it, organic, and apply it to the bottom of your feet, about 3 drops each foot. Do this maybe 2x a week on and off for about 3 months. My son and husband suffered from cold sore outbreaks frequently and I had them use the Ravensara, only I did not tell them it was specifically for that because I did not know it would clear them up but after a year they had no outbreaks, two years and still none, so I looked into the ingredients in the oil blend I used and found that Ravensara kills it, so I am presuming this is why they have not had any outbreaks in a few years. They were experiencing pain, my son on his hands from guitar playing, my husband his back from work and that is where I applied the blend.
