Coldsores and scarring - Help!

I have had coldsores ever since I can remember. I've just always dealt with it, going into hiding for 2 weeks during an outbreak, avoiding family and friends (I hate the looks people give you, like you have some hideous disease -- or I'm sexually perverted and that's why I have it)

I just had an outbreak last month that was the worst ever. It took almost 3 weeks to heal and now I have an ugly purpleish scar in it's place (I'm devastated!) Has this occurred with anyone else out there? My husband (he's the greatest) says he's not worried about it, he thinks it will fade away with time ... Has this happened to anyone else???? Tweet
