Re: Tung Hai "cracked cell wall" Chlorella

I am not familiar with Tung Hai Chlorella.  I could not find any information about if it is tested for heavy metals.  Chlorella absorbs mercury and other metals from the environment, so getting one that is free of toxins is important.  Yaeyama is supposed to be the best according to Dr. Mercola, and they also use the cracked cell wall technique.  Here is information on it:

Chlorella is one of the healthiest, most potent foods in existence.

In addition to being a perfect food for humans, lower grades of Chlorella are fed to livestock all over the world.

Why is Yaeyama the Premium Quality Chlorella?

The chlorella I offer is from a company called Yaeyama. Their chlorella is a subspecies of Chlorella vulgaris, a single-celled, fresh water algae. Yaeyama Chlorella is known the world over for its quality and purity.

Chlorella is free of toxic residues and has no chemical additives.

Yaeyama Chlorella is specially cultivated on Ishigaki Island, a coral reef island off the coast of Southern Japan. It is ecologically grown in mineral rich spring water in the pure air and sunshine, without any pesticides. Potency and purity meet rigorous Japanese health standards.

Yaeyama is the largest Chlorella grower in Japan and they are the world pioneer in large-scale production,

Over 35 years experience in research and growth of Chlorella Fed by pure mountain drinking water and food-grade nutrients Chlorella grows in the clean air and sunshine of this protected island Rigorously tested by the Japanese government and independent laboratories. Cracked Open Cell Walls for Digestibility

Yaeyama Chlorella cell walls are broken by high impact jet-spray drying that pulverizes the algae wall for increased absorption of its vital nutrients. This superior technology provides you with a better taste and nutrition. The cell walls are cracked open in the drying process while maintaining cell integrity and nutrient value. In your body, the open cells allow the nutrients to be released and assimilated directly into your system.

By gently cracking the individual cell walls without damaging the nutrients inside, Yaeyama's patented jet spray dry process guarantees that you get full nutrition from Chlorella. You'll taste and feel the difference Yaeyama quality makes.

Chlorella is a complete vegetable source of all amino acids. 60% of Chlorella is protein, which is in the form of amino acids. Chlorella contains 18 of 22 known amino acids and is considered a complete protein, meaning that it has the essential 8 amino acids.

Chlorella and the other algae are abundant in beta-carotene, which is known to prevent cancer. The protein content of the algae is significantly higher than in the cereal grasses. Chlorella is about 60%, spirulina 73%, blue green algae 56%, barley grass 14% and wheat grass 18%.

Has Chlorella Been Pasteurized or Freeze Dried?

No. If it had it would longer contain any enzymes, one of the most powerful and important aspects of Chlorella and Spirulina. Any food that has been cooked, processed, pasteurized or freeze dried has lost its enzymes, which are of vital importance to good health regardless of our age.

How Much Should You Take Per Day?

Three grams per day is a good maintenance dosage of Chlorella for a person to take. With this amount, you will not notice significant changes, however, your body will get many of the nutrients it must have to function properly such amino acids (protein), vital minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates and enzymes.

However, a person taking 5-7 grams per day is quite common and at this level you will notice significant changes in digestion, energy and overall health.

ChlorellaIMPORTANT NOTE: When your body detoxifies from heavy metals and other pollutants, you may experience a period of discomfort as these pollutants are "flushed" from your system. Because chlorella is such a powerful heavy metal detoxifier, I urge you to begin your chlorella regime gradually over the first few days and build up to my recommended dosage.
