Unfortunately most metals will start leaching out and saliva helps up the process- if you have different metals in your mouth you will create a battery effect which not only speeds up the reaction but it can affect the neurological system via electrical impulses.
There are non metallic crowns like all porcelain (expensive) and indirect composite crowns made of resins.
