Oh My God. In May of 1981 my beautiful 6 month old child was having a little trouble keeping his formula down. I took him to the doctor, and he said that the child was just over fed (he did weight about 20 lbs at the time). The doctor saw that he needed his DPT shot and gave him his shot. Approximately 3 days later my son when into a Grand Mal Seizure. At the hospital they said that he had blood in his spinal cord fluids, and transferred him to a larger hospital 50 miles away. My son was in Intensive Care for about 2 months, then was transferred to a regular room, then after about another month we went home.

My son suffered what they called a "spontaneous sub arrachnoid hemmorage" with no apparent cause.

That was 23 years ago..

Today my son is Severely Profoundly Retarded. He has epilspey, Cortically Blind, and has extreme Cerebral Palsy. He required 24 hours a day 7 days a week care.

I wish that I knew years ago, that this had happened to others. I was fortunate that my son lived, and for that I do Thank God.

I am so sorry to hear this has happened to others.
