Be Wary of Health-Screenings that are Suggested by Doctors.

To all my Friends on CureZone:

Dr. Julian Whitaker has been one of the
leading lights of Natural Health protocols
for more than 20 years. In his July newsletter, Doctor Whitaker devotes 3 pages
to the very real dangers of health-screenings,
which are proposed by doctors, hospitals,
or medical centers. I'd like to share that
valuable information with you. I'll quote him
extensively.

Doctor Whitaker says that the standard
medical establishment is actively engaged in
"creating a nation of sick people." He calls
it "Disease Mongering." I agree with him
completely. Here's how he explains it:

"Disease Mongering is the installation of fear
in large numbers of people, by making them think they are sick. It is the driving force
behind the recommendations formulated by doctor's groups, medical societies, and government panels (and often funded by the
pharamaceutical industry) that trickle down
to your physicians, who convince you that
health-screenings are necessary, and can even
save your life."

Here are some examples of bogus screenings:

1) Cholesterol Screenings -- The "authorities
suggest you begin this screening at age 20, or
even younger if anyone in your family has high
cholesterol. As a result, 40 million Americans
have been diagnosed with the "disease" of high
cholesterol. Doctors tell those people they
need to take statin drugs. "Incredibly, there
is NO evidence that statin drugs reduce risk
of death from heart disease, except in a small
sub-group of men with existing disease."

If you have any doubts about the horrors of
statin drugs, do a Search on the "Dangers of
statin drugs." You'll be appalled at what you
read,

2) Bone density screenings -- These are advised for all post-menopausal women. The
screening will tell one-half of all the women
who take it, that they suffer from "osteopenia," bone density below a certain level. This "disease" did not exist
12 years ago! The pharmaceutical companies
invented it, so they could sell tons of
osteoporosis drugs, "even though women with
osteopenia have NO significant risk of
fracture."

3) Mental Health Screenings -- "which, if things go according to plan, will soon be
mandatory for everyone, including pre-schoolers. These bogus screenings detect
unprecedented numbers of disorders such as
ADD, ADHD, bi-polar, depression, post-traumatic stress -- and the two newest ones,
"Social anxiety disorder, and female sexual
arousal disorder." Of course, for each of these
'illnesses,' there is an expensive drug that
provides an easy cure."

4) Cancer Screening Tests -- "such as mammography, which is recommended for all women over 40, and PSA testing, recommended for
all men over 50." These tests "have dramatically inflated cancer diagnoses, and
funneled untold numbers of people into bipsies, surgeries, chemo, and radiation therapy."

"Disease mongering is an all-out, no-holds
barred effort to turn risk factors into full-
fledged diseases that need to be treated with
drugs."

Doctor Whitaker mentions a statistic from the book by Dr. Carolyn Dean, entitled DEATH BY
MODERN MEDICINE. She says that 784.000 people
die every year from adverse effects of drugs,
medical procedures, and hospitalizations.

"Screening tests are the first step on the
slippery slope of medical intervention. You
go in feeling healthy, feeling great, and you
come out with a disease -- and a dangerous
drug to treat it with."

Doctor Whitaker also mentions "false positives." On Monday, the doctor tells you
that you've got cancer, and 10 days later,
he tells you the test was a false positive:
a mistake. "False positives are unbelievably
common, and extremely stressful."Just think
of the mental trauma caused to vast numbers of
people by these false positive tests.

So what should you do? First of all, "Avoid
free or low-cost health screenings sponsored
by hospitals or medical centers. They are
simply marketing ploys to get new patients."

Second, be wary of all screenings which are
offered by traditional doctors. Chances are
good there's a hook in it.

If you can't find a doctor to give you a
second opinion about the proposed screening,
Whitaker suggests you visit: http://www.acam.org
to find an independent doctor. "For every
health problem, there are natural therapies
that are much safer than the drugs and surgeries that make up the arsenal of conventional medicine."

Forewarned is forearmed. I hope this information will help some of you. If you
have any stories of your own about foolish
and dangerous health-screenings, I hope you'll
post them on this forum.

Blessings,

Owen
