On SANCTIFICATION/JUSTIFICATION
On SANCTIFICATION/JUSTIFICATION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Romans 8:30-33
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called,
them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. [31]
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against
us? [32] He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how
shall he not with him also freely give us all things? [33] Who shall lay any
thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
God is the only one who can justify a person. Justification means to be found
innocent in it basic use. In other words, those IN CHRIST are JUSTIFIED in
CHRIST ALONE, because of HIS WORK, and not our own.
Santification:
2 Tim. 2:21
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto
honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good
work.
Sactifiication is a PROCESS whenin a person learns to be a doer of the word, and
not a hearer only. It is a process of PURIFICATION, of PURGING, of getting rid
of the old habits and replacing them with the new. Of getting rid of unrighteous
thoughts and replacing them with new - of renewing of the mind, a cleansing.
Justification is instant at the moment of true regeneration in Christ, and is
instant, done via Christ because of His work on the cross and His approval of
the believer.
Santification is a wholly different concept, but they are intertwined often. "Be
ye Holy, for I am Holy" is really a command to SANCTIFICATION, so that we WALK
in the ways of the Lord. If we do, we are blessed, if we do not, we fall under
various curses.
A person can become sanctified by WORKS and still not be JUSTIFIED because they
never were in truth reborn. A person likewise can be JUSTIFIED and be slow in
santificiation, but does face the doctrine of divine discipline for lack of
effort in that regard.
Water Basptisim has nothing to do with either - it is merely SYMBOLic of what
occurs when one is REGENERATED, that is, WASHED IN THE WATER OF DIVINE AGAPE SO
THE BELIEVER IS CLEAN AND MADE RIGHTEOUS IN THE EYES OF GOD.
