Re: Cold hands and feet

Okay, sounds like you are hypothyroid/hypoadrenal. Definitely continue with your plans to remove Amalgams and chelate (I use Cutler protocol myself //www.curezone.org/forums/f.asp?f=638 ), but in the meantime you might want to look into therapies like Armour thyroid or substitute. Basically, it is dessicated pig thyroid complete with the hormones. You can usually find it on the Internet if you're the type that prefers to treat yourself. There is a newsgroup on hypothyroidism which in many respects sucks (very negative on alternative health care, I know one person who called it "pill central"), but they will have good info on obtaining Armour or substitute and dosages. Even they don't buy into treating this with T4.

Be very cautious with Iodine and foods that contain it. Lots of alternative health sites will tell you to eat lots of kelp and so forth. In some cases of hypo that can help, but with many or most of us it makes it worse. I did an experiment on myself with an Iodine solution that I got in the drug store. I applied Iodine on a few points on my body, and within hours I was getting chills.

If you are taking multis with iodine, or eating seaweed, try cutting it out and see if that helps.

If you take Armour, you have to become more conscious of your adrenals, as it will put more pressure on them. There is much information on adrenal support out on the web.

If you're male, be cautious with excessive self-gratification. Can put lots of pressure on endocrine system and make you colder.

I personally did not go the pill route for hypothyroidism. The pills only treat at best, they don't cure. But regardless of whether you do or not, it's very important to stay warm. Get heavier socks, long underwear, take regular saunas or long hot baths, make your showers longer, keep the temperature up, heat water/potpourri on the stove, use extra bed covers, and so forth. I found lying in the sun during the warmer months was helpful.

I'm in a bit of a rush now, but could add more. Let me know if you have any questions. There is a lot of information on web on all of this, but happy to offer my input.
