Hi Unyquity,

How fortunate for you that your livelihood is making art!

I understand what you're saying about the vomiting and stomach acid, and there is no doubt that stomach acid burns terribly. I've always gotten a sore throat after throwing up...even if it was not so prolonged to reach the nasty yellow stuff!

However, I also know that many people following gallbladder removal will experience chronic burning diarrhea, and they even call this bile salt diarrhea. It is due to the constant drip of bile since the holding tank is no longer there to contain it. And this burning would not be due to stomach acid because sodium bicarbonate that is released from the pancreas neutralizes stomach acid as chyme enters the small intestines. The small intestines could not handle the acid of gastric juices or serious damage would result. So, while the bilious vomit coming up may cause burning from stomach acid, the yellow bile salt diarrhea coming out the other end is burning because of bile.

Perhaps most importantly is that this burning can be prevented during a Liver Flush with a very simple remedy. All one has to do is use a cool, soft, damp cloth to wipe and following every 'bowel movement' make sure to lubricate the anal area with olive oil. A light coating of olive oil has always made a much more comfortable flush for me with no residual irritation during or after the flush. Nope, no burning bum for this gal!!! ;)

*I don't know about you, but salt water always burns my nasal passages something fierce whenever I have the pleasure of swimming in the ocean (sea salt water)! But it's worth it!!!
