Ouch! Mushroom questions..?
My roommate and I purchased some of those brown button mushrooms from the store [although they call them black..? They have the same shape as white button mushrooms, but they're brown. ;)]
Anyway, we chopped up about 14
oz of them and sauteed them in safflower oil, and after tasting one lovely -heavenly- mouthful, I fell upon the remaining batch like a ravenous wolf and ate perhaps.. 12
oz of sauteed mushroom with toasted hemp seeds.
Has anyone had a problem with abdominal pain and bloating to the point that you look 8 months pregnant after eating a large quantity of mushrooms? I took enzymes and didn't include anything else with the meal to ensure proper liver functionality.
I'm confused, because when I was little, my [many] siblings and I would circle around my father's frying pan filled with the little morsels of sauteeing mushrooms like scavenging jackals and eat our large fill from the pan without any ill effects.
So why now? I thought cooking mushrooms improved its digestibility?
