Toxin-test materials BEFORE dentist installs them in your mouth

A way to do Serum biocompatibility testing on dental materials BEFORE you have a dentist install them into your mouth. All of the plastic, resin, glue, you name it. This type of blood test can tell you which dental materials your body reacts negatively to and which are more compatible with your body. And apparently you can do the testing without having to first search for a local doctor willing to get involved (good luck with that!), and can do the serum testing before you choose a dentist – thereby being able to then go into a dentist’s office already armed with your knowledge of which dental materials you will insist he use and which you’ll insist he not use! I’m planning on doing this. Here is the information I have found on how it is done:

I found two labs that perform this testing, both are in Colorado BUT the testing can be done through the mail if you find a lab in your area to do the blood draw (The Colorado folks can help you find a lab willing to do a blood draw without a doctor’s order – many local labs won’t do this but some will). At the bottom of this message I’ve listed the two labs in Colorado. The one that I spoke with (Peak Energy, also called Scientific Health Solutions) was so helpful that I didn’t call the other one, but there are two to choose from.

Plastic, resins, and other dental materials can affect different people in different ways – allergenic reactions, etc. There was a post in this forum where people were rightfully fearful of the toxins found in resin and other non-metal fillings, and I have been too. Here we are trying to get away from toxins by having metal fillings replaced, and yet the replacements may also have toxins! Well, some of those toxins may not affect a person much, but may affect his brother or neighbor much more. Problem always was – how to have the dentist choose the best materials for you? An approach to this is to have one of the serum compatibility labs in Colorado do the serum testing on a blood draw that you mail to them, they apparently then provide you a list of the materials that your blood reacts to, and those that it doesn’t.

To also add YET ONE MORE layer of testing to this, you could pick a dentist who is open-minded, and ask him/her for samples of the materials that you are considering using, take them home and hold the samples between your cheek and gum during the daytime. (take out for meals, etc). Test the materials individually like this, and note any negative reactions as you do each one – headaches… To find a dentist who is open minded enough to give you the samples, try the "Possible Dentist Referral Source" list below.

Possible Dentist Referral List:
One or both of the Colorado Labs can likely provide names of dentists who are at least open minded enough to have used one of these labs in the past
http://www.dams.cc can give lists of dentist that may be more open-minded
http://www.iaomt.org can give lists of dentist that may be more open-minded

The two serum biocompatibility labs in Colorado:

1. Scientific Health Solutions (used to be called Peak Energy Performance Labs)– their url was http://www.peakenergy.com and it now switches automatically over to http://tomlevymd.com
phone (800) 331-2303

2. Clifford Consulting and Research. phone is (719) 550-0008, http://www.ccrlab.com

I just found a local lab in my (fairly small) town that is willing to do a blood draw using the kit from Scientific Health Solutions. I had to call Scientific Health Solutions for help finding such a local lab - none of the ones in my phone book would do it. But I found it, so here goes! Good health, everyone. -North
