a friend with gallstones - help!

a friend of mine has pretty severe Gallstones and refuses to get the surgery. he has tried to do the liver/gall flush but it appears the stones are too big to be dislogded right now. i helped him order some chanca piedra, the "stone breaker" herb. does anyone know any other ways to dissolve these stones so they are at least small enough so they can be flushed out?
