I don't know the cause of this but I have had this for many years. I use a shampoo called Nioxin, which I get in beauty supply stores. This has worked perfectly. It does have tea tree in it, as well as many other herbals and other ingredients. It's the only thing that has worked for me. It's kind of expensive, but nothing else has done the trick.
