any advice about gout...asap!

i am hoping to gather some info about a gout...
most importantly i am curious if having too much potassium is directly related & if not if any of the natural rememdies would have an adverse reaction on my kidneys, which already appear to be weak because of the enormant amount of potassium in my system....
i am hoping to start a regime including cherries, apple pectin, & the product called "uricinex". does anyone know if these will have a negative effect on my already overworked kidneys & even better if there is something that would have a positive affect on the gout symptoms as well as strengthen the kidney.

lastly would doing a liver/ kidney cleanse now in the attack of gout be beneficial or should i wait until the gout has subsided again?
