Electrolyte balancing is helping me drink more water!

Kelp (seaweed) is helping me to drink more water. I crumble about two teaspoonsful per day on bites of food and follow each bite with slurps of water.

We also keep some mineralizing rocks from the healthfood store in our Brita jug. (Instantly the water tasted 'brighter'.)

This is my post in the Adrenal Fatigue forum that tells where I got the idea for the kelp, and my initial reactions:

Thanks JamesG for the link... http://tuberose.com/Adrenal_Glands.html

I still don't fully understand it, though it is quite easy to read, but I'm following the suggestion (near the bottom) of eating a little kelp, with a little food, as I drink sips of water as often as I remember through the day.

I'm eating my meals in the same way. sprinkled with crushed kelp, some mined Sea Salt , and drinking some water as I go, slowly.

It's been 36 hours, and I feel fine! Better than in years! I haven't yet done heavy work, etc., but I think I'll be able to when the time comes.

Tomorrow we shop for more kelp, my favorite Celtic grey Sea Salt , and I'll probably get into my dulse, too.

I have magnesium drops for the bath or feet, and I've been experimenting with a little Pascalite clay. I'm fond of cilantro, and will step up consumption. It's all on instinct, of course, until I get Dr. Wilson's book, 'Adrenal Fatigue'. But this has been the most dramatic improvement to date.

I've been trying for years to increase my water intake, and couldn't. Now I understand the need for electrolyte balance (sodium, potassium, magnesium and chloride - in the proper proportions). Isn't it lucky we have ocean veggies?!

Keep up the good work. I, for one, appreciate it.

Also, in the same forum, I asked about copper because I think we are getting too much and upsetting the zinc/copper balance.

Yemaya replied with some encouraging words of wisdom:

This is what I think is happening to me; I'm tossing in a little kelp each day, plus slowly increasing my daily intake of water, and my body is doing the SORTING.

Unprocessed Sea Salt and seaweeds contain something like 81 minerals, in synergistic balance. Consume them in modest quantities, gently adding a little more water as you go, and your body will likely figure out what to do with them.

Using only improved diet and large salads with olive oil and lemon juice and garlic, I was able to empty my gallbladder of most stones (including one big one).

I then had a sort of sore spot in my liver, under my ribs. Varying the oils (coconut and Udo's Choice), and trying small amounts of raw Apple Cider Vinegar (Braggs), a few days ago I felt a large stone drop quickly out of my liver, and a small one a few days later. (None really hurt but I could tell they were scratchy, and the liver area felt a bit sore for a few days. The ache when I slept on my right side has disappeared.)

(My doctor thinks I'm silly but she did see stones in an ultra-sound exam. Maybe I should get another and show her the change. Kindly, of course.)

There are a number of other changes I've made that surely must have contributed to my success, and to my increasing sense of well-being. And I certainly have many more changes to make.

Folks, I think 'health' is all one. I feel I can't separate all that needs to be done into 'protocols' for individual symptoms. Besides, I have a heck of time remembering all the bits and pieces!

Water is basic, as Owen points out so very well. That's the best description of our need for water I've ever read, and I thank you for it, Owen.

To everyone's health!
