Re: Menstrating for a Month!

Hi CeCe...Menstrual cycles can be a nightmare! Been there...done that...moved on...
PRAISE GOD!!! :-)

You say you had this problem 10 years ago...but you didn't say how old you are. As
women get older and closer to menopause...it's common to have even MORE menstrual
problems than in the younger years. Periods get more irregular...pop up in between times for a day or two...last longer than normal...or you just 'spot' unexpectedly.
SURPRISE!!! :-)

Now this may not be the case with all women...or even most...but for myself and my sisters and our closest friends. We ALL went through things like I described above.

I even had the prolonged and the extra heavy periods. I've always joked that I've
led a 'storybook' life...and I've always said that 'because' I'm just a happy, hyper person and still deeply in love with the 'love of my life' after 40 years...but this 'cycle' part of my life was a horror story from beginning to end.

Many things can cause heavy or prolonged periods...but usually, it's hormonal. Now
there are natural remedies out there...but I've just never messed with any of them
in the hormonal department...and really can't advise you on that.

The condition is called Menorrhagia though...I hope I spelled that right...so you
can look it up and do a search. You may be able to go to your health food store
and get advice on one of the balancing creams or something. I just never studied
this area in depth and don't know that much about it.

I wouldn't be too worried about it if it also happened 10 years ago...but you DO have to get it stopped...that's for sure. In the meantime...supplement with
Ferrous Sulfate...you can get that over the counter...just take as directed on
the bottle. And eat some iron rich foods...nuts, beans, oats, raisins. You can
do a search on that too. The Ferrous Sulfate is an iron supplement.

As for as it being your nerves 10 years ago...doctors used to always say "it's your NERVES when they didn't know what else to say". Although...stress 'can' affect your
whole body from head to foot.

If you're in your forties...I'd be willing to bet you're just entering your REALLY fun years. :-) And it will probably be a roller coaster ride from premenopausal
to postmenopausal. So pad up...stay ready...and enjoy the ride...cause there are
people in wheel chairs with no legs...and these little problems that we women have
to deal with...though very aggrevating...are so small in comparison. kathryn
