Re: i need to know how to confront my grandfather who is "set in his ways'
#53167...You're not going to like 'my' opinion...but here goes. Your grandpa has,
no doubt, spent his life working to provide for his family and have the things he
and they wanted and needed. You have no 'right' to come along and try to insist that
he do things in HIS home YOUR way. If you want to do things a certain way...have
hardwood floors, etc...then you have to work towards getting your own home...and
THEN you can be the boss. Unless, of course, you have a husband...and then HE is
supposed to be the head of the house and you should make decisions together.
If there is no way around staying with your grandpa for 3 months...you can put your
money into an air purifying machine...and or...add a few air purifying plants and
put them in your bedroom. Put at least one very close to your bed...so it can
improve the air around your bed while you sleep. Put a couple more in other places
in your bedroom. It doesn't have to look like a jungle...you can make it look very
nice.
A few common plants that are good air purifiers are the Spider plant..this is a
hanging plant...and is really very pretty...and was recommended by NASA in the
80's as one of the very best air purifying plants.
Then there's the Boston Fern...my favorite...and the Ficus tree...another beauty...
the Ficus tree doesn't like to be moved around a lot, though...or its leaves will
get stubborn and fall off. The Peace Lily is good and also the Rubber plant. There
are many...you could do a search on the internet...but these are easy to care for...
I've had them all...and are inexpensive and easy to find.
Turn that frown upside down and give the world a smile. Your poor grandpa is probably thinking..."LORD...this is going to be a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG 3 months!" :-)
Put your energy to good use...never 'spend' it being a 'fuss budget' about problems
that can be worked through another way. kathryn
