My wife had a wisdom tooth pulled about 9yrs ago. She had chips coming out for a couple weeks.

If I were you, I would see if you can pull it out.

I had a tooth break awhile back and it was sharp and hurting my tongue. I had my wife take a small fine stone and smooth it down.

If you can't pull it out maybe you can smooth it down.

I used to have braces on my teeth. they gave me some wax to put on any sharp spots if I got sore. That works too.
