Shingles! What to do???

Well..I searched the CureZone Forums lists and I don't see any mention of shingles or on viruses in general. Perhaps the curezone team will place my post in the proper forum.
I'm a newbie, just joined today. So...on to my question...my father has been diagnosed with shingles and I'm wondering if I will catch it from him by casual contact, like hugging or shaking hands with him? I've already had chickenpox as a kid. I'm really afraid of catching it from him but I don't want to hurt my dad's feelings.
Is shingles highly contagious?
