Precocious puberty in my 5-year old grandson

My wonderful 5-year old grandson is starting to show signs of puberty-hair growth, larger penis, etc. not to mention sometimes bizarre emotional behavior. His parents are quasi-health minded people. His mother is Chinese and his dad is American.

The medical people say he has "Hypothalma hamertoma" and that it is inherited. They say he has an enlarged hypothalmus. They want to treat his condition with a drug called lupron which they want to administer until he reaches puberty. Lupron evidently stimulates the pituitary gland which is supposed to slow down testosterone production.

I am very distrustful of this drug and have heard is considered dangerous. I also question whether my grandson's condition is inherited or rather it is due to environmental stresses. I have heard that soy can disrupt the endocrine system---is this a possible cause? His Chinese Mom uses soy a great deal in her cooking. But if soy were such a problem, why wouldn't more of the Chinese population be suffering this malady? Of course, I realize milk or inorganic meat, plastics, etc, are also disruptors of the endocrine glands.

My biggest and most urgent question however is: Is there a natural alternative to solving this? If this is not the correct forum to ask this question, can you direct me to the correct one? I am praying someone will help us find a better direction.

Thanks so much.
